Every year at the river Rhine the world is upside down: Nothing goes its normal way anymore. Instead, people march, sing, dance and sway on the streets, in the pubs and in the festival halls. The carnival revellers storm the town halls and the carnival princes take over, from "Weiberfastnacht" to "Ash Wednesday" carnival reigns. 

There is a great variety of carnival runners in Franconia. In the meantime, new groups have joined, so it is worth taking a closer look at the colourful hustle and bustle on the high days of carnival.

But also the other regions of Germany can keep up with their different traditions. Whether Sauerland, Taunus or the far north and south - there is something for everyone here.
